Wire projects
Wire is one of my favourite materials because it gives the work a sense of fragility. My early works, often ironic and stylised, are now joined by “houses”, symbolic representations.

In my latest works, I have returned to working with humble materials, deliberately using iron wire to give the object a sense of fragility. I use handmade paper or old topographical maps, assembling the parts with needle and thread. The essential aspects of this work relate to the concept of “home” and the “act of sewing”. This object refers to “home” as a place of collective and individual identity. The “act of sewing” or “mending” suggests the need to rearrange and correct what has been worn away by time. The “home”, witness to the past and our present, has its door open. Will anyone come? - I'll wait for you. -
